Where the Red Fern Grows is a famous work by Wilson Rawls. The novel is a coming of age story, involving Billy Colman and his dogs.

In the novel, Rawls writes: "It’s strange indeed how memories can lie dormant in a man’s mind for so many years. Yet those memories can be awakened and brought forth fresh and new, just by something you’ve seen, or something you’ve heard, or the sight of an old familiar face."

And yes they have a copy of your driving permit but you have to go there and pay again for them to issue you another copy.

How do you like my poems? All Comments Welcome?
All originals by me. I have posted them before, but wanted to reach a different audience this time. I would appreciate comments on them individually instead of "those were all great!"

VICTIMS

We are all victims
Of the world in which we inhabit
And for all victims
This world cannot be inhabited
Those who victimize
Do not feel as their victims feel
So their victims live on
While the perpetrator rots away

ANGER

People constantly feel anger
They feel remorse
They feel agony
They feel pain
They do not recognize this feeling
They keep it bottled in a corner of their mind
And as those bottles begin to pile up
One is bound to crash down
Bringing all else with it

WORTH

We as humans define ourselves by our worth
Some are worth more
Some are worth less
But none the less
We were all made by the same worth
And somehow wiggled our way out
Of the box that kept us equal

LIFE

We define life as living
Yet it is not only that
It is feeling
Without feeling
Life is nothing
And without the meaning of life
We who live are lost

UNTITLED

The waves crash on the reef
Invisible to the creatures which dwell beneath
But for those who dwell above
A far worse fate comes
for these waves are not peaceful
but drawn by the storm
to come forth and wear away at the rocks
on which we hold or ground
sending us crashing to the ocean floor below

TO WONDER

Although the lives of those who wonder
Are filled with thoughts of wisdom and stupidity
I would rather wonder than not
For those who wonder
Typically fare far better than those who think.
