girl, im going to repeat two cliches here:
1. beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.. its not wat random ppl on yahoo think abt him, its abt how u find him.. if however u r hell bent on finding ppls opinions, i would give him a 5..

Mama's boy & daddy's girl?
Frequently we hear those expressions, boys are supposed to be more attached to their mothers, meanwhile girls are to their fathers. Is there any scientific evidence of this??

I am broadly speaking, I am sure there’s millions of exceptions.

According to Freud, children go through a phase of attachments to the opposite sex parent which is called "oedipal complex", based on the ancient greek story of Oedipus who ended up unknowingly killing his father and marrying his mother.
Basically the little boy is "in love" with his mommy until he realises that daddy won’t let him take her away so the boy redirects his desire from his mom to other women.

This theory was very rough then and has been refined and reviewed almost beyond recognition many times. But yeah girls do go through a phase where daddy’s the best man in the world and boys through a phase where mommy’s the most beautiful.

I am guessing that with the number of single parents family a new model should be put in place. I don’t know if any studies have been done on this : the consequences of single parenthood on the oedipal complex. If a psychology student or researcher swings by, I’d love to hear about it.

im a single parent and my daughter is definately a mummys girl….she sees her father regularly and dotes on him when he is there but still a mummys girl. perhaps thats because i am about all the time as opposed to him. so to me mamas boy and daddys girl is just a phrase.

Lol, I don’t know, but that’s just how it is with my cats! My female cat will jump up on my husband’s lap as soon as he gets home from work, and snuggle in, whereas my male (but neutered) cat will always come to be with me wherever I am in the house! (I don’t have actual kids yet, so they are my ‘children’ for now!)
